In three simple steps, you turn your camper vehicle into a passport to explore the world — with no accommodation costs.
Create your account (it's free) and complete your profile
- • Introduce yourself to the community and point out your favorite destinations.
- • Post good photos of your vehicle to make it more appealing.
- • Add your camper's availability to the calendar so others can see it.
Search for vehicles in the destinations you're interested in and send exchange requests
- • Use the filters to narrow your search (vehicle type, included amenities, etc).
- • Send private messages to other members and reply quickly to the requests you get.
- • Work out the exchange details with your host through ExchangeyourVan's booking process.
Subscribe and register your exchange
- • Once the details are agreed, your host needs to pre-approve the exchange.
- • If you're not a member yet, become a founding member for €50 (one-time payment, for life). Once the 150 spots are gone, the fee becomes €67/year.

What kinds of exchange can I do?
The classic exchange
The classic exchange, also called a reciprocal exchange, is the most direct and simple way to use ExchangeyourVan.
In this type of exchange, two owners agree to lend each other their camper vehicles, either for the same period or on different dates. You use another member's van while they use yours. No money involved, just a temporary loan based on trust and a shared passion for traveling on the road.
This type of exchange is ideal for getting started on the platform. Each party has the same responsibility to look after the other's van as if it were their own.
Exchange with VanPoints
VanPoints are the key to making exchanges easier. What happens if you find a vehicle you like, but its owner doesn't want to use yours? You can offer them VanPoints, which they can use later to travel with another member's vehicle wherever they choose.
Every new member receives VanPoints when they sign up, and also when they host other members using their vehicle or caravan.
Example: Imagine you travel for 4 nights to Portugal and use another member's camper van, paying 80 VanPoints per night. You'd hand your host 320 VanPoints in total, and they could then spend those VanPoints planning their own adventure wherever they prefer.
